About
Born in Sharlayan to exiled Viera parents, Annie was a Sharlayan scholar in the field of botany, studying the aetherochemical properties and applications of various herbs across the realm.
This was, of course, until the Seventh Umbral Calamity, occurring when Annie was around 21. While most of Sharlayan was stirred into a fervor by Louisoix's non-isolationist actions, Annie was greatly inspired by him. Once she finished her studies and gained her Archon Mark at 23, she left for Eorzea to become an adventurer, arriving in Ul'dah around the time of ARR.

A realm reborn
In the WoL timeline, everything goes about normally storywise in ARR. She starts as a Red Mage, and is in relatively high spirits until the events of the banquet that lead into Heavensward.

Following this, her mental state is shattered, and she blames a lack of strength. She tosses the rapier aside for the greatsword, taking up under the pretense of revenge. Throughout the events of the expansion and the DRK quests, however, she realizes that her current path will only lead to ruin. She embraces the love that truly guides her blade, and promises to fight for justice and change through love and understanding, not bloodshed.

the botanical adventurer
After coming to Ul'dah, she joins the Adventurer's Guild and starts taking up various jobs. She takes up Red Magic during this time. Since then, she's traveled the star in search of both adventure and the most interesting botanical specimens. She lives in Ishgard, and has a sort-of schoolgirl crush on Ser Aymeric.
